Naad Samyama’s Commitment To
Mental & Spiritual Well-being
Naad Samyama is dedicated to enhancing mental and spiritual well-being through the resonant sound. “Naad” or “Naada” refers to the essence of sound while “Samyama” means integration and unity. Our vision is to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together to experience a sense of integrated wholeness through sound vibration.
Rooted in ancient wisdom and modern science, Naad Samyama focuses on Indian classical raaga music with special emphasis on Dhrupad as the medium of Naada Yoga. We also embrace the vibrational essence of other complementary Indian Raaga music, healing sounds and mantra chants, all woven into a meditative experience that promotes balance, vitality, and inner well-being.
To achieve our vision, Naad Samyama is committed to:
1. Supporting young upcoming artists with deep focus on Naad Yoga.
2. Strengthening and encouraging the presence and relevance of Dhrupad music within the community.
3. Creating a network connecting Naad Yoga focused Raaga music practitioners and organizations.
4. Identifying and promoting young creative artists with an innovative open mind, rendering ancient Indian classical Raaga music relevant in the contemporary setting to engage the youth and yet, preserving its ancient essence.
Ultimately, Naad Samyama, seeks to guide individuals on an inward journey fostering harmony within and a deep connection to the world around us, leading to the meditative silence at the core of our Being – the Source of all sounds.

The Journey and Beliefs – Founder’s Note
Naad Samyama was founded with the vision of building a community that harnesses the power of sound for healing and well-being. The inspiration came from an early experience of listening to my youngest sister’s voice harmonized with the tonic note of the tanpura that reverberated in the space around, as the ethereal continuous sound of OM. Transporting the disturbed mind into a deep “silence state” of tranquility. The vibration felt was experienced and understood years later as the “Naad” – the essence of sound, demonstrated by a Dhrupad Guru who introduced Naad Yoga; a practice focused on the power of the sound, where music paves the way from a busy mind to a state of calm and peace. The goal of music, the Guru said “is to be absorbed in the sound that takes you from a thoughtful to thoughtless state!” This experience solidified my understanding of the ability of sound and vibration to heal and elevate the human spirit.
Naad Samyama is especially dedicated to my third sister Bharathi, who only responds to the calming effects of the sound of raaga music and mantra chants in her current state of stroke. Furthermore, with a special mention to my mother who gave us, the five sisters, the love for music, the light of “Naad” and my father who provided the ambiance of vedanta, yoga and meditation, with the essence of “Sadhana” from a very young age; and our home space in Chennai of the first and fourth sister, vibrant with the sound of music. This was a great blessing for Naad Samyama, the sound yoga space to be today! Our space is founded on the principles of inclusion, compassion, and mutual support where everyone is welcome to explore the benefits of sound yoga and connect more deeply with themselves. Join us in discovering the power of sound to foster inner peace and well-being and to pass this light on!
